Kenny and Tonnie

Thanks to both of you. I tied your suggestions as to increase the DOS screen size and they worked!

I imported javax.comm and followed the 7-step instructions. After that:

The example given in the instructions i.e BlackBox did not work. I got an error message - no such method when I keyed in "java BlackBox". I noticed that in the 6 th step of the installation instructions, the example BlackBox was not consistently spelt i.e. once as Blackbox and once as BlackBox. I wonder if this had anything to do with it not working. Have you tried this example?

The PortChooser program which gave me 10 errors before now compiles fine. However, when I try it with java PortChooser, I get a similar message to the above i.e. no such method error.
Once I get this program to work, I hope to develop a servlet that will read my printer port.

Cheers,

Ken
