If you read the original post, Ken is using Windows ME.  I am using Windows
XP and haven't had any problems with it.  I was merely pointing out that
what he was trying to do works fine on XP so it is most likely a problem
with what he is doing rather than the ME operating system.  My development
machine is behind a firewall and is only used for development.  To answer
your question, I use XP Professional Edition because I find that runs my
development environments and other software very well.
