Hey!

This should not be discussed on the SERVLET-INTEREST
E-list.

Close enough
"Edit" -> "Preferences" -> "Navigator" -> "Helper Applications"

IE is wrong. It sniffs the content of the document. This causes
a multitude of problems. But that doesn't mater. Microsoft wrote the
best
browser in the world.

Netscape correctly makes you have a defined mime type.

Try "application/msword" for wordpad. I don't use applications from
Microsoft so I can not help you with Microsoft Word.

These mime types can be tricky to add, so as not to conflict
with others already existing.

The American versions of Netscape 6.1 did not come with any
other mime types than text/html.

I suggest looking at Netscape 4.7x. There were almost a hundred
included.

Just ripoff the ones you need.

Sans adieu,
Danny Rubis
