After dealing with a lot of different IDE vendors, I have found out that
this is a question of contracts and company size. If your big/critical
application is of the kind that having it up and running means large cash
risks, I would suggest buying a solution from someone who can sign and honor
a large monetary insurance contract including software licenses and
consulting/support. Of course, this kind of solution presents higher costs.
Some of the larger vendors, like IBM, rely on Apache solutions, but they
will back it up at their own risk.
Luis.

Subject: TomCat in big apps
Hello,
I'd like to listen about experiences using TomCat in
big/critical application. We're currently developing a big application
using Servlets, JSP, TagLibs, Struts, and there is a doubt if TomCat is
the ideal server software.
We've budget to buy solutions like iPlanet, WebSphere, WebLogic,
etc. But, it's necessary??
T.I.A.,
