Tomcat is considered one of the best servlet and jsp engine ... it is highly configurable and can be integrated into apache with ease ....
all you need to know is how to configure it ... ( which is not easy though !!! )

The only trouble is tomcat is not a EJB container ... but it still can be integrated into a application server ( like jboss ) ....

I would rather prefer to use tomcat with apache and jboss ..... combination ......

And most of all ... all the software given above are free ,,,,

If you are loooking for a comercial servlet/jsp engine ....  go for IBM Websphere .... because IBHM visual age ( IDE ) Is nicely integrated with it ....and is good for development ....

but my vote will always be for tomcat ...

Guys what do you all think...

Subject: Open Source Web Server for Production

Hi,

Can any one of you suggest some Open Source Web Server for production purpose for running JSP and Servlet.  I used Tomcat(Though not recommended) and not very satisfied.  Heard that Jetty is pretty Good  but not yet tried. I have downloaded it and will try in a couple of days.  Want to know if any of you have used Jetty-4.0.5 for production and would like here some comments on that.

  Have a great day.

karthikeyan.
