Greetings-

I've been seeing some questions flying around lately on 3D Secure, aka Verified
by Visa, looking for some specifications. I doubt there's any formal
documentation about the internal specs available outside Visa because they're
operating the important components within Verified by Visa, i.e. the Enrollment
Server, the Transaction Manager, and the Issuer Access Control Server (IACS).

There's an online course (one lesson) on Verified by Visa that I developed for
Powered and Visa. You can find it, along with the links to the Merchant
Implementation Guide (MIG) for VbV at www.visamec.com

I hope this is useful information...

With warm regards,

Hi,

     for A : There is a specification for 3D-SET. 3D SET is
implementation model of SET. There is no difference between SET and 3D SET.
This is only definition .....

     Answers :

As I know, there is no current specification on 3D-Secure.

There is no relation between 3d-SET and 3D Secure except they are
VISA originated standarts. 3D-SET is a full payment system but 3D Secure is
a standart for authorizing credit card user. Visa also says that, they will
work together and there will be a standart for interoperability between 3D
SET and 3d Secure systems.

If I've been following the discussion on this list correctly, the position
is this.

A/ There is no specification for 3D-SET.

B/ Visa owns the IPR on the 3-D Secure Specifications and is developing a
specification for coexistence between 3-D Secure and SET.

I have 2 questions then:

1. How can I obtain the 3-D Secure Specification?

2. What is the relationship between 3-D SET and 3-D Secure?

Rachel
