I have
been running SETI@HOME for the last several months and have submitted 75
units.
My
computer is a laptop that I use at work through a docking station, and at home
standalone.
Would
someone please give me a simple explanation of what software in addition to the
supplied [EMAIL PROTECTED]
is
available to be able to collect work units ahead of time and submit the
completed ones later.
Now I
have to stop seti@home after a work unit is down loaded, rename that file, run
seti@home again, etc, till I have 5 or 6 units saved up.
Then
when each one completes, I rename the results, rename a saved work unit, and
restart seti@home. When I am again connected to the
internet, I then have to rename each saved results
file, restart seti@home, wait for the submission, etc.
I get
the impression that there is a suite of support software available to do that
for me.
I
don't want to have to restart the machine, or have two systems running or
anything like that.
Thank
you for your support.

I have a P2-400 with 196MB RAM and my completions are an average of 8.5 hrs.
used SETIcache and make a virtual hard drive in your RAM. install SETI in
RAM and save power on your hard drive, plus your time will speed up 30%
faster. My time went from 13hrs. to 8.5hrs. (sometimes I complete units in
7hrs.)
