Dear wehweh,
If you are a novice user as you say, and had problems installing Plone, I
assume you tried to use the "all platform installer" for Plone. That
installer indeed requires Zope and Python previously installed.
Unfortunately, I haven't tried that installer yet, so I can't tell you why
you had problems installing Zope (probably you will get better support on
the Zope lists).
However, if your idea is just to give Plone a try, I recommend using the
other "Windows-specific" installers, specially the buildout-based one. They
have everything you need (including an installed Zope and a dedicated python
environment). The only special requirement is that you need administrator
privileges to install.
