i'm able to include plone.portlet.collection in my Plone 3.3.5 builds with no problems, but have completely failed to get it to show in my quick installer Add/Remove Products list.
i've tried with builds to which i've added a bunch of other products (including, eg, plone.portlet.static), and all the other products show fine. (plone.portlet.static is a good example, because it's structurally very similar to plone.portlet.collection.) in case there is some collision with the other add-ons, i've tried creating a brand spanking new deployment (zeo) instance using the Plone-3.3.5-UnifiedInstaller, but it still doesn't show. (to confirm that i was putting the eggs and zcml entries in the right place i then added plone.portlet.static, and it shows up fine.) i'm totally mystified, and don't know where to even start debugging what a product might load fine - it shows in the ZMI products section, and i pdb_set_traced() the product __init__ to confirm that's happening - but not get added to the Add/Remove Products list. i assume other people are using plone.portlet.collection, and some with plone 3.3.5. yes? any ideas, any one? i'm doing some fancy stuff with membrane/remember, so i don't know whether plone 4 is an option... -- ken http://myriadicity.net
