As far as I can see, the new LiDAR modules are all in GRASS 7.
That is a development version of GRASS, which is not currently
supported by the SEXTANTE/GRASS interface (you can try if it
works, but I have not tested this myself).

The current stable release (6.4.1) has some modules for
processing LiDAR data, but nothing to directly import
popular LiDAR data formats (LAS).

Currently, I cannot see an easy way to get LAS data into
GRASS 6, but maybe someone on the GRASS user list
knows more.
