Just to clear the confusion.

To install SEXTANTE for arcGIS, forget about the sextante.zip file and
use the sextante_arcgis.zip instead. The readme file in this last one,
however, has some confusing instructions (my fault...). I will change
it tomorrow and try to add as much information as possible.

Let's see if that helps to solve your problems.
