The SFC project has been migrated to Karaf4 for a while now. There was a
problem with SFC and some other dependencies, so it was removed from the
distribution, but should be added back soon.

With this patch [0] SFC was modified to use odlparent 2.0.2.

Brady

Hi,

Yes exactly that is the case, We need to wait for other dependencies to be
included in distribution. Not sure when it will be ready we just need to wait
and monitor the situation.

Hi,

I try to add FaaS into the karaf4 distribution , but sfc feature which faas has
dependency on hasn’t been added yet. Actually I found out not many features in
the karaf4 either. Seems most of projects is still in the process to add their
features in karaf 4.

Thanks
Xingjun

Hi,

We need to get rid of karaf 3 completely. When the migration to karaf 4 is
finished the karaf 3 is removed. So just remove your karaf 3 distribution
completely and use just karaf 4 distribution (update your local karaf 3 to
karaf 4, test the build. If that works you can prepare a patch for
integration/distribution to include your project also in distribution ODL).
Take a look at this guide:
https://wiki.opendaylight.org/view/Karaf_4_migration#Step_8:_add_your_karaf_4_features_to_distribution

Hi,

I was in the process bumping the version odlparent-lite to 2.0.2. I found
features-sfc is not available in sfc feature’s pom file, only features4-sfc
left. In FaaS’ karaf3 features, faas feature still refer to features-sfc, but
if I replace it with features4-sfc, I got some testing error saying single
feature test fail.

So what’s the plan right now regarding karaf 3 and 4, do we need to get rid of
karaf 3 or needs to keep both? How do I fix this. Any pointer is appreciated.

Thanks & Regards
Xingjun

Hi,

Actually there are two thinks that needs to be changed one is migration to new
guava. I have seen a patch for FaaS project created by Robert but it is not
finished yet. https://git.opendaylight.org/gerrit/#/c/50190/7
And the second change is to migrate to odl-parent 2.0.0. I don’t know if there
is a guide for this but there are a lot of patches that you can take a look at.
It`s just a version bump and replacing old karaf 3 features with karaf 4 ones.
Just take a look at the patches in the odl-parent 2.0.0 topic:
https://git.opendaylight.org/gerrit/#/q/topic:odlparent200

Hi,

Groupbased policy has a dependency on Faas project. We want to migrate to
ODL-parent 2.0.0, but Faas project didn’t migrate to new odl parent yet. Can
you provide us with updates regarding your project and odl-parent migration.
Until your project is migrated we will be blocked.

Thanks

Michal
