This is some food for thought because I notice that questions related to the KDE client and problems with the dependency on Evolution are regularly coming up: Has it ever been considered to make sflphone completely desktop independant ? A client that uses QT, GTK or any other GUI library but that has no dependencies to any specific desktop environments software (Evolution / Kaddressbook). This would open up sflphone to many other desktops (XFCE etc.). I just found this poll on the web: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2010/11/what-mail-client-do-you-use-it-poll/ Currently Thunderbird clearly leads with 2423 votes / 33.37% before Evolution (1545 votes / 21.28%). Kmail gets only 1.69% of the votes. Looking at this I have doubts about how many Gnome or KDE users are actually using their desktops addressbook. I myself use KDE but I am one of the 33% who use Thunderbird and I use TBs addressbook.
thanks for all the work on SFLphone, Mark _______________________________________________ SFLphone mailing list [email protected] http://lists.savoirfairelinux.net/mailman/listinfo/sflphone
