Hello/Bonjour Patrick, Thanks for proposing to help us improve SFLphone usability. SFLphone have multiple clients ( http://sflphone.org/screenshots ). I guess your problem is for the Gnome client as the KDE and Android clients implement "smartphone like interface" for call actions (HandUp/PickUp/Record/Mute/Hold/Transfer). We are in the process of creating a major new version (2.0) and the Gnome client will have a major refactoring. In fact, it can almost be considered a re-write from scratch. Long, long time ago, the toolbar had labels under the icons, so the problem didn't exist. But, yes, since we use icon only, things are now very confusing, this is a known issue. The KDE client solved this problem by less or more copying the Android call action toolbar from Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). The android client use Radial menus based on available actions. The "new" Gnome client will probably use one of those solution, but we are not there yet. When it come to the minimize to systray feature, we used to have on e. The Gnome developers decided to revisit the whole systray concept and that made our implementation unusable. As of now, we are creating a GTK binding of our new "business logic" library called libringclient. This library will add new features such as auto-completion, better contact integration, advanced history filters, bookmarks/favourites numbers, macro and much more. While we welcome contributions and would love to have user usability input, right now is not really the best time. The current sflphone-client-gnome code wont be released again and the new GTK client is not usable yet.
If you wish to fix the toolbar, we have build instructions available in out wiki: https://projects.savoirfairelinux.com/projects/sflphone/wiki As I said, the GTK client, as it stand now, wont be released again and is "frozen", so no new patches will be accepted. If you wish to contribute to the project, we will make available the sources for the new GTK client as soon as it become usable. For now, you can either use the Gnome client as is, temporarily switch to the KDE client, create a patch to add giant PickUp and HangUp buttons to the existing Gnome client or use the keyboard shortcuts (Escape and Enter). We understand none of these options are perfect, but we are at a turning point and a lot of things are changing. Do you want us to notify you when the new (experimental) GTK client become available? Hello I would like to contribute to the new features on a future new version of SFLphone as I have some concern about the Interface, especially for "pick-up", "hang-up" which should be more like we can see on a smartphone where the buttons are very easy/clear to use while on SFLphone on desktop it is not so easy/clear and this contribute to miss a call... My other concern is about the "close button" which should give an option to "go to tray" instead closing all the program itself then the "tray icon" when we click to get the main page should remember where the window were before to go to tray instead to go over my other window.. Finally, I don,t know where I can find the complete manual to set the configuration file properly as I ignore many terms used and I absolute don't know how to configure them either... so a manual desxcribing each term would be appreciated in order to set the program properly. Thank you ! Merci !
