Andreas,
There were significant client display performance improvements
made in the 4.30 release, so an upgrade *may* help.
Are your users using the Java client, or the standard client? The
problems you describe remind me of bugs in client-side Java, back in the
1.4.2 builds - but you wouldn't see them now unless your using the
Classic Webtop client, or possibly, displaying application in the
browser, which requires Java to do the display.

Rick

Hi all,
The release date of 4.4 is (un-)officially November 19th, 2007
That means it can be downloaded since today:
_http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=4717e2a2
_The documentation for this version can be found on the _Sun
Documentation website_. The documentation can also be downloaded
from _filibeto.org_ .
More information _wikis.sun.com_ and

_
We are currently using
Sun Secure Global Desktop Software for SPARC Solaris 2.8+ (4.20.977)
and users complain that the desktop hangs quite often when moving
windows around, popping up menus and the like. This happens when using
an ADSL-line on the client side and a 2 MBit leased line on the server
side.
Can anybody confirm, that the felt performance over lines with not so
optimal latence times has essentially been optimized in newer versions
of SGD? Is it worth to try a newer version in this regard?
Regards,
Andreas
