Doing a bit of research before posting I came across this thread which
is very similar to the error I'm experiencing only the solution isn't
clear and what I tried didn't work:

It seems that in both instances of OSol (old and new) I get the error
that the sgd server hasn't started using the admin console and the same
message as posted above in error.log which has just happened as didn't
show before??
