Eric Schmidt, a member of President-Elect Barack Obama's Transition Economic 
Advisory Board, talked about the intersection between technology and the 
economy. He discussed ways in which technology can help the new administration 
and Congress in generating short- and long-term economic and job growth and 
restoring public trust in government. Topics included the need to build a 21st 
century infrastructure, support for research and innovation, repairs of the 
education system, and ways to make the government more open and responsive. He 
responded to questions from members of the audience.
