Hello, Advise you to download System Mechanic from www.iolo.com and run that evaluation program to check you mtu and mru and all other stuff. Be sure to select LAN option when you optimise the setting. STN mtu/mru better leave it at default that is 1500, and make sure win98 is set to 1500 too, because win98 is usually default to 576, this will cause a choke on the linux system.
