Still no go.
With only one in, rset8019.exe doesn't recognize anything. But with two in, it runs
fine and can set them. (or so it appears) It might have set both?
Now I've seen it work a few times with just one card in, but not reliably (was
rebooting bunch of times and it worked a few times only). The times it FAILED, I saw
these four lines, which otherwise has always appeared (NOTE this is NOT the correct
MAC address that comes up the few times it's woked):
NE*000 ethercard probe at 0x340: not found (invalid signature: 50 50).
STN: Assuming it's NE2000 anyhow.
50 50 40 10 00 00
eth0: NE2000 found at 0x340, using IRQ 5.
Also, got it to ping in the out of the box config at 0x300/irq3, but not since I "set"
it except for those few times.
Weirdness.... Different responses without changing a thing.
Giving up now. I'll try in another 486 I'll be getting soon--if I have the same
prolems, I won't use them in the future.
