Things are working pretty well, but there's an odd thing and I don't
know if it has to do with STN or the Cox@Home network.
Cox provides some tools for evaluating the network, including an easy
way to ping and trace route. The internal mail, web, and new servers
in @Home are called simply "mail", "www", and "news". After booting
STN, if I try to ping "mail", I get no response and the pinger times
out. I can do this three to five times. Then, suddenly, the ping gets
through and thereafter all pings get through.
Now, if I try to ping "www", the same thing happens. It also happens
if I try to ping "www.intel.com". No response at first, then
something breaks free and it goes fine.
Any ideas?
