The DNS server is there so you can have an intranet, or to speed up subsequent lookups from the DNS cache.  You wouldn't want to populate hard coded IPs to machines out on the internet, that would be counter-productive.

I would like to use the STN DSN server but an obvious question come to me :
Knowing a URL name ( for exemple www.sharethenet.com ) how can i find
the IP address associated to it so I can populated the DSN server table?
