look here: http://members.tripod.com/~djsf/masq-icq/

I might be mistaken, but they claim to have one for 2.0 and 2.2, the
2.0 being the one of choice. If you could look into it, I'd be much
obliged, and indebted!

I have had this infamous icq problem. I have ipautofw'd ports to my
computers, and that didn't work...I've set up icq to dynamically
allocate, I've set it to use the port range I set it for, I've even set it
for modem/dialup. The problem that occurs is that it fails to
connect, sometimes, sometimes it will connect, and then
disconnect at a random interval, and a lot of the time it will
disconnect and reconnect rapidly, causing annoying "knock-
knocks" on others computers and a lot of "welcome back"
messages every minute or so.

ICQ works perfectly on version 2.1.0 of STN, however....File
transfers even work, both directions! The only thing that didn't work
was chats....we could chat internally and externally, but as soon
as two people from the same ip-masq network chatted with a third
person, their icq crapped out. Kinda cool, when I think about it,
you'd think the internal ones would die first....

I imagine a socks server would solve this. either that, or I will
attempt to add ip_masq_ftp.o to STN 2.1.0 (that is the only thing I
miss from downgrading, my ftp server at goat.psouth.net). I'd be
willing to try some things, if you'd like me to, I have both windows
disk-makers, and a few real linux distros I've been trying, LRP,
edge thinLinux, etc....I hope this gets solved soon, I've gotta stop
playing with my server and start doing school work, or I'll never get
into MIT!

Here's the info on my setup:

Working Fine:

STN 2.1.0

icq99b
icq99a
icq beta for win 3.1

set on any of the three choices, modem, firewall dynamically
allocated, or specifed ports.

Not Working:

any of the three icqs I have with STN 2.1.3, on any of the
modes...sometimes they work wonderfully....but then it dies...

good luck! thanks for your help, too!
