I doubt that they are broken if they are installed and can be run. That is
really strange. No problems have been reported with the setup script so far
and it has not been modified since more than a year!

Can you please mail me the files 'setup' and 'filelist' you used [in private
e-mail]? Please compress them with tar and gzip to avoid corruption during
transfer.

An other thing to check would be what kind of shell you use. The install
script asks for an 'sh'. Are you sure you have not installed an alternative
shell?
