lol, the thought is certainly appreciated. And surprised to see a python
script, too.
Some of our project files have actually been inadvertently converted to
enumerate all the files manually. The reason we haven't done this on
purpose, and we use wildcards, is because wildcards are part of how the
format is supposed to work. And also because we have developers on Linux
that don't use MonoDevelop, and just use kate and NAnt, and then the trunk
breaks because the project files weren't managed correctly.
I am personally on a firm stance that, the project files fit the spec, and
this is a bug with MonoDevelop that needs to be addressed as such. If the
convenience of using MonoDevelop begins to outweigh the convenience of other
Linux users not having to remember to edit the project files, then we can
make a decision on SharpOS policy on the matter.
Not to mention that the wildcards make the project files more versatile, and
encourage us to not do wonky things like conditionally including certain
files. All in all, it makes the project files easier to read, understand,
and maintain. Notice, we do the same thing with our NAnt files. ;-)
But I'm sure if anyone wants to retain this script for personal use, it will
be more than appreciated!
