No offense taken, I just wanted to clarify it before it spread. :)

I also remembered he did our current logo, some work around the build
process, and some keyboard mappings.

80% or more of your description describes what Next was designed to be.
Again - we are not unique in these regards. I have definite unique ideas
later for Cosmos - to me the managed part is a means to an end, not the end
itself.

Actually VS2008 now allows cross platform dev in it. I asked MS about what
we do with FCL - and no one could find a restriction on what we are doing.
That being said - we use FCL for now but if anyone finds a restriction in
the current .NET, we can very easily move to Mono. Nothing in Cosmos is
MSNET specific, and likely we will move to Mono in the future or make it hot
swappable for either. For now we stay with MSNET more out of convenience and
focus than out of desire.

Yes, that part of Linux sucks. Lets stick more to my analogy of Linux and
FreeBSD then - at least there is a bit of real differentiation rather than a
billion distros "just because"

Yes. That fits inline with my comment around applications. I think that’s
the best place for possibilities.
