You're on the right track, Roy. It will most likely be the HEP, followed by the fuel pump. They are supposed to hold pressure, but often do not. A third possibility is a bad logic module. I have seen this particular failure a few times before. I would try the HEP, first. The HEP is pretty much the ballast resistor of this era of cars. It can fail without notice, and you are stranded when it does. I would carry a spare in the trunk, anyway.

When the tow truck dropped the car, it started and I drove in my garage? Then it wouldn't start till I tried today, then it ran for about 3 min. and died. I was thinking it was the fuel pump when I pushed the little valve on the fuel rail the gas just dripped out. Will the rail hold presser when the car is off? Other then that it could be the HAL in the dist. Any help will be welcome. Roy 86 GLHS #200 87 Shelby Lancer #781 5sp cloth 81 Fiat X1/9 85 Honda Interceptor 500 Will I ever get out of the 80's?
