Hi Tom,
On the differences between Carlisle and the Mopar Nats, from
what I have seen it is just that Carlisle is geared more
toward the casual enthusiast that wants to show his/her car
in a pleasant surrounding. Carlisle offers a place to park
for 3 days on the fun field for one entrance fee and that
show is a popular vote type of show. The Mopar Nats charges
admittance per person, does not have a popular vote show
(only a judged show), and parking on the grounds is not
included.

The Mopar Nats also has a 3 day drag racing program, which
Carlisle does not. Carlisle usually has a tandem event of
night time drag racing at Stone Mountain Dragway which is a
1/8 mile track. The only way to get your car onto the
grounds at the Mopar Nats, is to enter the judged show,
enter the drag racing, buy a swap meet space, or be a
vendor. All of those cost more than the basic admittance
fee. So to a point a person will get more bang for their
admittance fee buck at Carlisle than at the Mopar Nats.
That and the Carlisle fairgrounds is just SOOOO nice. It is
a well organized show and is really a nice way to spend 3
days.

Of the two, Carlisle doesn't get as many total attendees as
the Nats, but the car show is huge, usually about 2000
Mopars on the show field. I think the swap meet at
Carlisle is probably bigger also.
