Funny thing - my Lancer would also eat the power modules. It would take out the voltage regulator and in turn fry something else. I installed an external voltage regulator ( box I had lying around from a 70's mopar) and wired it into the power module and haven't had a problem in 5 years. Glad you figured it out.
