THE STRANGERTired and exhausted with the water-skin onher back, she was gasping
and going towards herhouse where innocent children, their eyes fixed atthe
door, were eagerly waiting for the arrival oftheir mother. On her way, an
unknown man approachedher. He took the water-skin from herand placed it on his
back. The door opened andthe children saw their mother entering the housewith a
stranger. He placed the water-skin on theground and said:"Well, it seems you
don't have anyone to fetchwater for you; how come you are so
forlorn?""My husband was a soldier; Ali sent him tothe frontier where he
was killed. Now I am alonewith these little children."The stranger said no
more. Bowing down hishead he went away. But the thought of the helplesswindow
and orphans remained in his mind. Hecould hardly sleep in the night. Early in
the morninghe picked up a basket; put some meat, flourand dates in it; went
straight to her house andknocked at the door."Who are you?""I am the man who
brought your water yesterday. Now I have brought some food for thechildren""May
God bless you and judge between usand Ali"said:She opened the door. Entering
the house he"I wish to do some good acts. Either let meknead the flour and bake
the bread or allow me tolook after the children..""Very well, but I can do the
job of kneadingand cooking better than
you. You take care of thechildren till I finish cooking"She went to knead the
flour Immediately he
grilled some meat which he had brought and fedthe children saying to each child
while puttingmorsel in his mouth:"My son, forgive Ali if he has failed in his
dutytowards you"The flour got ready; she called: "Gentlemen!put fire in the
oven:" He went and put fire in theoven. When flames rose up, he brought his
facenear the fire and said, "Taste the heat of fire. It isthe punishment for
those who fail in their dutytowards orphans and widows."By chance, a woman from
the neighbouringhouse came in. Recognizing the stranger, shecried: "Woe, don't
you recognize the man who ishelping you? He is Amirul-Muumineen (commanderof
the faithfuls) Ali bin
Abi-Talib."The widow came forward and shamefacedlycried: "Curse and shame to
me. I beg your pardon:""No, I beg your pardon for I failed in my dutytowards
you."Presented by www.ziaraat.comANECDOTESOFPIOUS MENby:Mortaza Motahhari
I Strongly Disagree
I strongly disagree with the above incidence due to the following reasons:
1. Not giving his due to the rightful owner is a sin which is an impurity,
and according to
Aaya -e- Tatheer (33:33) Ahlulbait (a.s.) have been kept away from all sorts
of impurities.
2. The Holy Quran says “ We have manifested everything in the Holy Imam”.
If everything has been manifested in the Holy Imam then Imam (a.s.) should also
be having knowledge of all the soldiers in his army.
3. We believe that Imam (a.s.) decides about the affairs of the people on
the night of Shabe Qadr. How can Imam (a.s.) decide about the affairs of people
if He himself does not know about all the people in the world and how many of
them are dead and how many alive.
4. Once while on their way to the battle field Maula Ali (a.s.) army came
across a river. Maula Ali (a.s.) told one of his companions to go to the river
bank and call a particular fish and enquire of him about the depth of the river
and find our a point where the river is shallow enough for the army to pass.
The companion went to the bank and called the fish by its name. One fish came
on to the surface and told him that there are thousands of fish by the name you
have called out, and told him to come back with the father’s name of the fish
he wanted to talk with. The companion went back to Maula Ali (a.s.) and
informed him about the situation, Maula Ali (a.s.) immediately told him not
only the name of the father but also the name of 70 previous generations of the
particular fish. Now dear readers is it possible that Maula Ali(a.s.) who is
aware of 70 generations of an ordinary fish would be unaware of a particular
soldier serving in his army.
5. Once during a battle Malik-e-Ashtar told Hazrat Ali (a.s.) that O, Ali
(a.s.) had I killed one more person then our tally of the persons killed would
have been equal. Maula Ali (a.s.) replied that O, Malik don’t compare yourself
with me because you kill who so ever comes in front of you but I look down 70
generations of the person in front of me and kill him if he does not have a
momin in his lineage. Now is it possible that Maula Ali (a.s.) who could look
down 70 generations of a person in a split of a second, is unaware of a Soldier
who serves in his army.
6. Once upon a time a person came to Maula Ali (a.s.) and asked him a very
difficult question to which Maula Ali (a.s.) gave an answer in a split of a
second. The man asked Hazrat Ali (a.s.) O, Ali you gave me an answer very
quickly and did not take effort to ponder over the question even a little bit.
Hazrat Ali (a.s.) told him that the entire universe is always in front of my
eyes as you have the 5 fingers of your hand always in front of you. Is it
possible that Maula Ali (a.s.) who has the entire universe in front of him as
the fingers of once hands is unaware of the soldier.
7. During his reign as a Caliph Maula Ali (a.s.) once told that today
there is no one in my Caliphat who is hungry, who is without clothes and who
does not have a shelter on his head.
8. Hazrat Ali (a.s.) once proclaimed from the pulpit that O people ask me
whatever you want before you loose me (Dawae “Saluni”). These two incidences
show that Maula Ali (a.s.) had complete and sound knowledge about everything in
the universe.
Now in the light of the above Aayats and incidences, I would request the
readers to ponder that is it possible that Maula Ali (a.s.) who has been
purified by Allah (s.w.t.), who has a knowledge of all the things present in
the universe, who decides about the affairs of the people during Shabe Qadr,
who is aware of 70 previous generations of an ordinary fish, who scans
through70 generations of the person in front of him in split of a second, who
is ever aware of the mysteries of the universe; who proclaims that none in his
Caliphat is hungry and calls the people to ask him what ever they wish is
unaware of a particular soldier in his army and fails to provide help to his
family.
This and many such incidences are planted by the enemies of Imam Ali (a.s.) to
(God forbid) defame him. Unfortunately many such incidences are quoted by Shia
writers without thinking. I therefore request one and all to avoid quoting
incidences which go against the Ismat of Ahlulbait (a.s.).
Khuda Haafiz.
