I tend to dislike jira for this very reason. It splits the responsibility while making the information less accessible. Don't understand what to you mean here. In any case I would not use a specific product name, as "jira" for a list. When I arrived to apache, some lists were called "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" Just as bugzilla and cvs passed away, jira will in some future moment.
