 For pollers it's a bit more simple in fact. There is no limitation with
poller distribution (when with scheduler the arbiter need to cut your
configuration, so you cannot have only ONE big dependency tree). Putting a
poller in spare is not really useful (if you got a server ready to run why
not activate it?), so in an HA architecture, you can have in the "slave"
server all daemons as slave, but not the poller (so you got 2 active
pollers). If one die, the other will have the full load (so you must be
sure than one can manage all the load!) with no impacts.

Spare on pollers can be good for multi-levels realms, but it's another
story :)
