It seems potentially kinda useful, but I'm not really that interested, either. With the OP's example of a Shoes app browser written in Shoes, I would question whether the best UI and experience is to embed the apps for presentation anyway. The potential variety of app designs and dimensions alone seems to make this problematic, not to mention imposing the design of the browser app onto the embedded one. I don't mean to discourage you, but maybe to suggest some alternate approaches to a similar idea. I've taken this road a few times so far in getting Shoes to do things I want. :) Also, fwiw, I would suggest not thinking of Shoes as trying to be like the web. It seems to me that Shoes took some better ideas from the web, and coming from the web I like this very much, but it's not quite trying to *emulate* the web. I think ultimately that is good.
