My app crashes when trying to render this text with the latest Shoes and OS X 10.4.11:
"Rails Summit Latin America - Oct 15-16, 2008 - S\343o Paulo, Brasil - http://tinyurl.com/3rcv62"; I assume it's a problem with the utf sequence, but I paste the whole text just in case there is some weird thing going on elsewhere. Crash report and minimal sample app to recreate: http://gist.github.com/11894 The app is a Twitter client, and I have noticed text rendering problems when viewing the public timeline as well, as well as sometimes crashing. Rendering problems I've noticed are things like Japanese characters showing up as a bunch of boxes, squished together. The same text renders correctly when sent to growl, however. Is there anything I can do to handle this stuff better, or are there shortcomings in Shoes or OS X.. or both? I haven't tried using another font in Shoes.
