Eternally waiting for Godo...eh the gem

Ok, I used the Shoes.setup to get a few gems and I get the setting up 
dialog which just sits there doing nothing (Looking for ... and no 
progress on the bar).
I'm on Leopard with shoes -v giving me

shoes raisins (0.r1057) [i686-darwin8.9.1] +video
Anyway I can figure out where it hangs?
