System: 64bit Mandriva 2008.1 GNOME Greetings all.
Have just discovered shoes and tried out the run script. A Gtk warning appeared at startup; Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "ia_ora" but the script still ran. Installing the 32bit library for ia_ora resolved that problem but one or two other messages have come up subsequently. Can't remember the details, and at one point the Manual browser crashed. To get past any problems caused by 32bit conflicts I downloaded shoes2 (raisin) and tried to compile it with make. That bombed out almost immediately because version.h does not exist. The compiler is looking for it in the shoes subdirectory while trying to compile ruby.c. The source at GIThub does not have version.h either, so how to proceed from here? Congratulations to why for producing such a brilliant piece of software, and many thanks for the ruby tutorials as well. Len
