"I went to Dynacraft's Advanced Shaft Research Class and picked up a couple of clubmaking tips. The first one was they were using deep fat fryers (home use) with play gound sand, glass beads, and some other type of sand (must be Alzheimers'). Jeff Summitt said that the playground sand worked the best. Leave the head in the sand for 15 - 20 minutes and pull the head. I also asked about wood heads and Jeff said that it took too long (over 1 hour). He just takes the whipping off, covers the head with duct tape and hits it with his torch while in the puller. Normally is able to pull the head in a few minutes. Great class if anyone is interested.
