Y'all check your math.

25.4 mm does indeed equal 1 inch.
2.54 cm does indeed equal 1 inch.

But going the other way -- which you both were:

10 mm = 1 cm = .394 inch

Jim was right with the large numbers (1 meter), but unfortunately changed
more than the decimal point when he went to smaller numbers.

  10mm=1cm=2.54"
  100cm=1meter=39.4"
  1000mm=1meter=39.4"
  Divide the number of millimeters by 25.4 to convert to inches.
  Divide the number of centimeters by 2.54 to convert to inches.
