ED, I don't think offset does much of anything to raise or lower trajectory. I've played a few offset heads and never noticed any difference.
I do believe a higher swingweight contributes to an earlier release...you just can't hold the wrist cock as long, and it seems to take longer for the head to square. At least, when I'm swinging an E-something long driver, I not only feel like I have to let it go sooner, but also have to slow down my tempo to let the head catch up. When I was swinging a C9, 46" driver a few years ago, control was a problem because my hands really went fast...slice one and draw the next...never quite timed it right. I didn't have that problem when I was in my 30s...played a D2 very well in those days. At age 59, when I increased the s/w to above D8, my consistency improved a lot and accuracy also. E2 is about as high as I can handle for 18 holes without losing control late in the round.
