Royce - Most of the suppliers use a rubber o-ring as a Cally ferrule replacement but I’ve found those to get weathered and cracked over a relatively short period of time.  At one time, Golfworks carried a hard plastic o-ring ferrule that was sized for either woods or irons (not stretchable like the rubber ones).  They were nice and not as susceptible to aging.  However, last time I ordered some from GW, they showed up as the same rubber ones that everyone else seems to carry.

I’m partial to Arnie’s trick where you heat up the ferrule very slightly and cut around the base – then slide it up and out of the way before pulling the head.  It is really pretty simple and takes virtually no time once you get a little practice.

Subject: ShopTalk: Callaway ferrules

Anybody know of a source for a ferrule that looks like Callaway's?  I've got a buddy in Holland who is needs to reshaft some X-14's.  He hasn't been pleased with the o-ring technique, and would like to get something that is a better match.  I thought I remembered seeing someone at the last PCS Expo who was selling them, but I CRS...

Tried all the usual suspects...no luck so far.  I've used the o-rings lots of times, but he'd like something made out of "real ferrule material"....

Thanks!
