Arnie,
For the last 7 years, it has been apparent that GS is primarily interested
in the novice or hobbyist clubmaker. That business must be 50 times more
lucrative for them than the busines from pro clubmakers. (Do you actually
know how much, Al?) If I was a pro clubmaker, I wouldn't do business with
them...but they say their prices are high enough so that if you're on their Pro
Plan, you can still get a good return. Could be, but I wouldn't like their main
marketing effort in direct opposition to my business. Since I'm a hobbyist,
don't much care one way or the other...just don't like their higher prices.
Also, have never had a head from them that was any better than
average....haven't bought many from them lately, either. Thought the Tour
Cavitiy irons were punky feeling, weights were off, shipment late, etc...the
last ones I tried, I guess.
You mean an good ole' DIYer like yourself doesn't install your own brake
pads? It's easier than building a club. :-)
