Bernie and Ed,

Every year for our golf trips south I used to get a New secrete weapon for
our
9 days of fun in the pines and marshes of Jekyll Island, Ga. Late Feb early
March. Anyway, one such weapon was a Power Pod when it first came out.
I was sure it would cure my 50 yard slice. We got to Jekyll late that
evening
and we all got out to hit balls on the range before checking in. I pulled
out the
Pod "guaranteed not to slice" and promptly hit three balls off the range!!!
I kept toeing it. When I got the distance to stand from the ball down, it
did
very well for me. I hit many straight long drives down the left side of the
fairways among the tall Ga. Pines. Trouble was, then I had to hit my next
shot
from the left side of the fairways and my slice with everything else in my
bag,
including my PW was hard to get on the green. No room to aim left and hit
the
big banana with a calculated angle adjustment coincident with the club I was
hitting.
2 iron 35 yds adj. left azimuth, PW about 5 yd.

Before the nine days was over got the aiming right and got some of my early
losses
back. I kept playing that club for almost three years. Still have it.
They even
later on brought out a Titanium version.

This was long before I found my salvation in longer shafted clubs with a
hook or offset
face.

Nope, don't have one (but don't ask me how many training
aids I have :-)

I heard that many people, if they could get past the looks,
hit the Power Pod pretty well. They had some breakage problems,
if I recall correctly, but they were fixed. It looks like they are
now out of business. FWIW - here are reviews and a picture.
