I use two 4' x 4' targets in each of my hitting nets in the retail store and recently switched from a mesh style to a solid and wow what a difference
Could you explain what you mean by "solid"? I got tired of repairing holes in net so I hung a homemade canvas baffle in the cage. Nice loud thump! The baffle is 6' X 5' has markings so I can see trajectory.

Hi Arnie,
My previous targets were made out of something akin to what you might see as screening on a tennis court, these new ones are made out of a material called Rhino Hide, it's 17 mils thick and kind of rubbery, they use thicker versions of this stuff for anti-fatige mats.
I had them made in black to match my net with my logo silk screened in the middle and grommets around the perimeter and reinforced the edges and corners, the ball leaves a dent that goes away after about an hour so you can see where you hit it and man are they loud it sounds like you fired the ball into a big bass drum.
I had a local commercial sewing guy do them for me at a cost of $30.00 each and Im sure they have already paid for themselves.
