He had removed
the grip and removed all the tape, so he had a good view of
the shaft. In fact, he looked for one (extension) upon seeing the inner
diameter of the shaft.
Only other thing I can think of is possibly the shaft was backweighted and a weight container was placed in the butt. He then cut through the walls of this container.
Got me stumped on this one. Maybe a container in the butt of the shaft to smuggle drugs?
I had a regrip job yesterday with a 3 iron that had a shaft "rattle". Customer told me it started when he had a clubmaker in TN extend the clubs one half inch. Found a 15 in long section of graphite shaft jammed into the butt of the club (no epoxy) that created a "buzz" as the tip of the extension vibrated inside the shaft! You see some strange things!
