at least one OEM, Taylor Made, that routinely plugs virtually every one of its Bubble shafts with a tip insert.
If you plug a shaft tip with uncured epoxy before assembly , you can avoid having the shaft creep up (due to air pressure) by twisting the shaft in the hosel several times before setting it aside for curing. The twisting action helps destroy the seal which causes the air pressure. BE SURE TO DO THIS WHEN REASSEMBLING A PLUGGED TIP SHAFT ON A TAYLOR MADE .
