Bob,

Unless you find another club in a used club barrel, you're going to have to replace it with a different brand shaft. These are super cheap discount (Kmart) clubs made for a mass market. They are probably the best of the bunch, I actually played them many many years back as did my Mother, and they have been around for a long long time. However, if you weigh the shaft out you will find that there probably isn't anything light about it. You can put a ProLogic taper tip shaft in the head and it should work out even better than the original, but it would be like putting a Ferrari engine in a Ford Pinto. Unless you are doing it gratis, the repair on one club could equal 1/4 the cost of the set if not more. I would politely suggest building the golfer a new set, but would repair it if that is what he/she wants.

I don't mean to preach. Just trying to help.

Subject: ShopTalk: Northwestern Reshaft

I was given a Northwestern 'NW-1' pitching wedge and asked to replace a broken graphite shaft.  When I removed the piece of shaft from the hosel I discovered that it appeared to be taper tip.  The broken shaft is an Acculite Plus Lightweight Graphite and according to the shaft band it is R flex and was assembled for Northwestern in Canada.

Although there is a (small) selection of taper tip graphite shafts which I could use, I would like to replace it with a shaft  matching the original.  I was unable to find Northwestern on the web and I would appreciate any help in locating one of the Acculite shafts.  TIA.....  Bob Dixon
