Those that cook the epoxy use both of the
above. When I bake em, I use the playing position method.
If you "cook" the epoxy to cure it faster I would like to pass on something we have started doing recently to avoid "boilout" (that's when the epoxy gets runny and drips down the hosel. I found that if you let the club stand for about 2 hours the epoxy "kicks" (starts to harden) now adding heat there will be no "boilout". I simply added an appliance timer (cost under $10) to the electrical plug from the "hot box" . Do all the "glue ups" stand the clubs in the box, set the timer to go on in 2 hours and run for 3 hours.
Come back in five hours and the epoxy is fully cured.
In the past I have posted that you can coat the hosel (OUTSIDE) with any oil and the boilout will simply peel off. With the method described above there is NO boilout and no need to coat with oil.
