David,
Steer your Asian clients to Penley iron shafts, available from
our host John in less than full sets.

Their IMS (big dollars) and Stealth 70 (less dollars) are unique in
that EACH iron shaft is made differently.  The mandrel for the 5i
is different than the 6i, etc.  They are designed to have the same
dispersion as steel, longer distance wasn't a goal.

I was practicing a lot and was hitting off mats, which resulted
in elbow pain.  I switched to graphite from Balistiks to reduce
the shock.  The first set I tried (Mach 22s) were fine except for
the 8, 9, and PW (I still use steel from SW up) which seemed to
balloon an had big yardage gaps (others have had success with
the Mach 22).

I switched to Stealth 70s and the distances were EXACTLY what my
Balistiks gave me, plus my elbow stopped bothering me.

Hi Ed,
I have a set of forged Stiletto irons in Stealth 70's and I agree with you, they are probably the best gr. iron shafts I have ever hit.
I found them to be stiffer than almost any others, as I recall I soft stepped that set using R's and they came out above just about everybody else's S's.
The IMS's never really blew my dress up, most guys wanting that heavy of a shaft need a real stiff build ala John Daly who played them and they were softer than the Stealth's.
Go figure.
David
