This is from a guy on Wishon Golf's forum. I said I post his
question here. I seem to recall someone saying that some of
the old clubs were screwed on (matching threads between shaft
and head). Anybody got any ideas? He says that there definitely
isn't any pin in the hosel.

I have a few years experience at clubmaking & repairs etc (in my shed)
but was asked recently to reshaft & regrip one of these old NIBLICS.
Made in Scotland way back in time, probably in the twenties or
thirties. I has a rusty old streel shaft & modern (kinda) grip & a
very long hosel. No pin in hosel, so don't anybody ask that question.
Shaft insertion is about inch & a half. Probably about .335 tip & the
butt is about .500. I suspect it is the original shaft as hickory that
slender just wouldn't stand up to a decent hit.

Now then fellow 'tinsmiths' this shaft just won't come out. Heated it
with heatgun and almost reddened it with torch. It is a little bit
lose and will turn a fraction in both directions but is not willing to
  leave it's happy home.
I did try 3in one oil & other oils but am now stuck just like the
shaft. Any wise heads here to help a fellow clubmaker (novice)
