Do you heat this with a propane torch? for how long?  Then you

Heat it with a propane torch till the last 2" turn red hot.

slide it down into shaft, as far as it will go?

When red color just disappears shove it down the shaft till it bottoms out.

Don't understand  glue bead.
Tip of the shaft should not be filled with epoxy.

You may have to go through this procedure several times till the epoxy bond
breaks.

I find that a hot rod is not my choice of tools for graphite shafts unless its a bore
through with a broken shaft that's too short to fit my shaft extractor. then I heat the plug, push it out and then use the hot rod.
Hot rod works better on steel shafts because the steel conducts the heat, graphite doesn't conduct the heat as well.
