I do! This very short sentence creates many problems for some. However in the case of this repair I would disagree. Encasing masking tape doesn't add any strength to the bond. A special ferrule adaptor like the Billy Bob product gives the strength to the bond that is needed and releives the strain at the top of the hosel.
But then I have to stand behind my work and eat the "redo" costs so I plan for no redos.
Others will most likely say the masking tape/epoxy encasement method always works but I would more likely think it "almost always works". How much will the "almost" part cost you in the future?
